Integrated Identity Protection for Semantic Communications in Embodied IoT Systems

In briefProtecting Sender Identity in Semantic Communication for Embodied IoT

SummaryThis paper addresses embodied IoT systems that use task-oriented semantic communication, noting that existing trustworthy designs focus on semantic content and pay limited attention to source legitimacy. It treats each signal as carrying both task-relevant semantic information and the transmitter's physical identity, and proposes a dual-branch identity protection mechanism with an authentication mode and a concealment mode. Two case studies on active source impersonation and passive identity inference are presented to evaluate the framework.
